John A. Carlisle was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.  Earning his Bachelor's Degree cum laude from Florida State University , Mr. Carlisle was a Phi Beta Kappa and held leadership positions in numerous student organizations.   Mr. Carlisle continued his education at the University of Florida College of Law, where he graduated with honors in 2002.   During law school, Mr. Carlisle served as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy courses.  

Mr. Carlisle is a civil trial lawyer whose practice emphasizes litigation of civil cases, including professional liability, product liability, contract disputes, and personal injury matters.   Mr. Carlisle also has experience in railroad litigation, including handling cases arising under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA).   Mr. Carlisle was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2003 and is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Florida , including the United States District Court for the Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Florida .  

Mr. Carlisle is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association where he is an active participant in the local bar association's community service projects and law league athletics.   He also participates as a presiding officer in the Clay County Teen Court program.
