Rutledge R. Liles is a Board Certified civil trial lawyer with more than forty-two years of experience.  Born in Miami, Florida, and raised in both Miami and Jacksonville, Florida, he earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University in 1964 and his law degree from the University of Florida in 1966.  While in law school, he was Executive Editor of the University of Florida Law Review.  Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Liles served in the United States Marine Corps.  Mr. Liles and his wife Noel have three grown daughters and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Liles is licensed to practice before all state courts of Florida, the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.  He has received Martindale-Hubbell's "AV" rating (the highest rating), and is also listed in the publication "Best Lawyers in America," 1999-2006 editions in seven separate categories.  Mr. Liles has served as president of both the Jacksonville Bar Association and The Florida Bar and is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and American Bar Foundation.  He has served on the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission and the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission and is a member of the International Society of Barristers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and the Chester Bedell Inn of Court.  Over the years, Mr. Liles has served on multiple committees of The Florida Bar.  Mr. Liles also served on the City of Jacksonville Ethics Commission.

Mr. Liles has authored many articles and has lectured extensively at state and local bar programs on topics ranging from trial tactics, malpractice, ethics, and lawyer professionalism.
