R. Scott Costantino is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Civil Trial Law. Mr. Costantino was born in Albany, Georgia and grew up in Jacksonville. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with honors from the University of Florida in 1985. Mr. Costantino received his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1988. While in law school, he was the Student Works Editor and Senior Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy. Mr. Costantino and his wife, Monica, have four children.
Mr. Costantino has been with the Firm since its inception in 1991. He is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
Mr. Costantino has received an "AV" rating by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. This is the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Jacksonville and American Bar Associations, as well as the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Jacksonville Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Costantino has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in Florida. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers.
Mr. Costantino has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA"). ABOTA is a national organization devoted to the preservation of the right to trial by jury.
Mr. Costantino specializes in civil and commercial litigation. He represents clients in the areas of medical malpractrice law, professional liability law, nursing home law, Federal Tort Claims Act law, products liability law, medical devices law, complex personal injury and wrongful death law, as well as contract disputes and commercial matters.
